The establishment of the demonstration city cluster for fuel cell vehicles in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was launched, the first of its kind in China. 558 old residential communities built before the year of 2000 were included in the renovation program of Beijing municipal government in 2021, benefiting 275,000 local households. The renovation projects of 177 residential communities was already completed ahead of time. The renovation focusing on sewage system, thermal insulation and barrier free facilities already began in anther 301 communities, covering a total area of over 11 million square meters.
2021年北京市共有558个老旧小区纳入改造清单 ， 将惠及27.5万户居民 。 新完成改造的老旧小区数量达到177个 ， 超出年初定下的任务目标 ， 改造涉及上下水管线、保温层、无障碍设施等方面 。 301个老旧小区的改造已经开工、覆盖面积约1113万平方米 。

Over 7.3 billion cubic meters of water has been allocated to Beijing since the South to North Water Diversion Project became operational seven years ago. The project significantly alleviated the water shortage in the capital, with more than 13 million people benefiting from it. Beijing has launched cooperation with 16 cities and counties along the route in Henan and Hubei provinces to boost local economy. 4 billion Yuan have been invested to support over 1000 projects since 2014, covering a wide range of sectors like water quality improvement, public service and industrial upgrading.

Top 10 student proposals were released at the closing ceremony of the 39th 2021 Beijing Student Science and Technology Festival. The top 10 were selected from 6726 proposals initiated by over 7000 primary and middle school students in the annual event. The proposals focus on multiple issues like environment protection, Central Axis cultural preservation, public health and Olympic culture. In the past 13 years, the annual student proposal event has attracted around 20,000 primary and middle school students to participate, some of the proposals have been adopted by relevant authorities.
